Sultan Kosen - The Tallest man in the World [Living] !

Everything is giant to talk about Sultan Kosen. From his Suit to Shoes, everything stand apart from 'normal'. This is all because of his height ! Yes, this young man from Turkey is the tallest man living on earth, measured 251 cm (8 ft 3 in) on February 8, 2011, and still growing !

Born on December 10, 1982, Sultan Kosen has three Guinness World Records in his name ! Apart from being tallest man in the World, he also holds the record for widest hand span and largest feet on a living person. He is also the one among only few people [10 people according to GWR] to reach the height of 8 ft or more !

Sultan is one of five siblings, with three brothers and one sister. Except him, all the other family members are of normal height. He was unable to complete his schooling, just because of his height ! He was normal till the age of 10, but because of a tumour which caused the release of too much growth harmone from his pitutary glands, he started to grow abnormally.

He works as a part time farmer to support his family. He uses walking sticks and can't stand for a long time. He feels happy about his height, as he could help his mom with household stuff, like changing a broken light bulb and hanging curtains. But it is hard for him to find clothes and shoes that fit him well. He also finds it extremely hard to fit into a normal sized car !

The tallest human being in recorded history is Robert Pershing Wadlow, who lived during 1920s in Alton, Illinois, USA and measured 8 ft 11.1 in, 18 days before his death !! His shoe size was 37AA or 18.5 in and can still be found in Alton Museum of History and Art !
